Tusenårsvarden from Grua

Molde

The trail at a glance

One of Molde's most frequently visited viewpoints. The route leads past the venerable Skihytta cabin. A trail with a variable terrain that starts after the lit ski trail, with well-prepared trails up to Skihytta. From here to the top there is a prepared path and there are great views of the sea and mountains to the north, and with panoramic views of Molde to the south.

Route description

From Grua, turn right at the information board and follow the lit ski trail along a well-prepared trail up to Damafallet, where you will cross Vardevegen and continue up to the Skihytta cabin. After a snack at Skihytta, which is open on weekends, continue along the marked trail. This is laid with stone and has planks over the wet areas. When you come up to a couple of ponds, called Auduntjønna, turn right along the ridge up to a clearly visible cairn. This cairn was built to mark the millennium.
