Svartvatnet

Surnadal

The trail at a glance

The trail to Lake Svartvatnet has a gradual ascent, but it is short and therefore suitable for both the fitness walk in the afternoon and a Sunday stroll with children. You might also want to stay here overnight. There are several nice camping spots around the lake, and if you bring a fishing rod, you can also try lake fishing. You will get to enjoy the blossom of the beautiful white water lilies in summer or a magnificent display of colour in autumn. After the new forest road was built up to Lake Svartvatnet, the trail became easier to walk on, so it is definitely recommended. The beautiful Svartvatnet is waiting for you!

Route description

A forest road starts a couple of hundred metres above the first house in Bæverfjord (on the side of Nordmarka). If you follow this road up and do not take any detours, it will take you to Lake Svartvatnet.
