Solemssetra from Litlvika

This hiking destination is a hidden gem of nature that lies on an open hilltop overlooking the Hamnesfjorden. The mountain farm Solemssetra lies at the height of only 300 metres above sea level but offers a view that makes climbing the steep hill worth it. The trail is perfect for regular fitness walks but also for a Sunday hike with children. Please see another description for a less strenuous hike to the farm.

Leave your car at the designated area on the lower side of the road in Litlvika. Follow that road for about 100 metres and take the forest road runs up the hillside from there. Follow the forest road until it ends. Then take the path that leads you further up to the mountain farm. Take a nice break and enjoy the scenic view from the farm building owned by the Oppistua farm in Solem. From here, you can either follow the same route back to Litlvika or take a circular walk by following the waymarks down to the Oppistua farm in Solem and walking back to Litlvika along the rural road.

Take the road to Flessa at the junction in Bele, Bøverfjorden. Follow that road for about 4 km to Solem. Here, you will see a sign for another hiking trail to Solemssetra. Drive past that first sign and continue for just over a kilometre until you reach Litlvika. Park your car at the designated area on the lower side of the road.
