Kringstadsetra

Molde

The trail at a glance

This lovely trail follows a forest road through forest terrain and leads up to Kringstadsetra, a summer mountain farm beautifully located along the Haukebøelva river. It is possible to walk from Kringstadsetra further towards Lake Langvatnet and Lake Kryssvatnet, and then continue to several mountain tops in the west.

Route description

The trail starts near National Road 662, at the designated car park on the southern side of the road. Skogsvegen, the road which is closed with a boom gate and unavailable for cars, starts on the northern side of the national road just north of the car park. The trail starts with two steep hills. Where the road flattens out, go straight ahead at the junction. Do not turn right towards Kringstadnakken here. Continue following the road all the way up to Kringstadsetra. When you see that the road stops, turn left towards the Haukebøelva river and walk for about 100 metres. You will find the trail postbox in front of a small bridge over the river.

The trail starts about 5 kilometres west from the centre of Molde. A Kvam to Djupdalen bus route passes the starting point. The regular bus route from Midsund to Aukra also travels via the starting point.
