Time has taken its toll on many of the mountain farms in our district. This is why it can be interesting to visit a well-preserved farm that you will find on the summer mountain pasture that was used by the farmers of Hakstad in Bøverfjorden. The trail up to the mountain farms runs through fairly easy terrain and follows a forest road most of the time. It is perfect for beginner hikers or as a quick fitness walk in the evening.
The trail starts at the exit road to the Hakstad farm in Bøverfjorden. Walk up the farm road and through the courtyard. Continue straight ahead towards the power mast at the edge of the meadow. Walk straight up to the edge of the forest from there. Walk through the gate and up the forest road. Follow this road until it ends on a marsh. Turn left and walk up along the marsh. Continue straight ahead until you reach a stream. Instead of crossing the stream, keep walking along its side. The path will become more visible after some time, and you need to follow it all the way to the mountain pasture. Here, you will find the remaining buildings of the summer mountain farm for both Hakstad and Hakstadrønningan, but if you are looking for the Bæverfjord Sports Association’s trail postbox, you will find it on the wall of a barn at Rønningsetra.
Park your car at the exit road to Hakstad, about 2 km from the centre of Bøverfjorden in the direction of the former Halsa municipality.
