This is an easy hiking trail that follows a tractor road for 2.5 km up to the trail postbox. The trail is suitable for both a workout and a family walk with a stroller. There is a signposted car park below the national road at the start of the trail. This can be a loop trail if you continue walking past the trail postbox, cross the river, follow the clear path/tractor road down to the left and walk all the way down to the sand pit by the national road.
Park your car below the national road at the starting point of the trail. The trail starts from a small hill on the upper side of the road. You will see a trail sign. Follow the tractor road for about 2.5 km as it gradually ascends and you climb a number of small hills. Walk past the old summer barns and a more modern cabin a little further up the valley. You will find the trail postbox on a small open area where there is usually a table with benches. The trail is relatively easy as it follows a well defined forest road the entire time, but it has been graded blue because of the length (5 km, round trip) and a few relatively steep slopes.
If you want to make it a loop trail, continue walking further to the left where you see a path, walk over the bridge, climb up a small hill, and you will walk onto a tractor road. Turn left and follow the road until it ends down by a sand pit. Follow the national road back to the car park.
The car park is located below the national road after the Solstrand Verft shipyard if you are driving from Vestnes in the direction of Fiksdal. The car park can accommodate 10–15 cars. Please see the map and the picture.
