Around Folkestadvatnet
Volda
There is a gravel motor road on both sides of Lake Folkestadvatnet in Volda Municipality. These two roads are linked together by gravel paths on the northern and the southern sides of the lake, which makes it a perfect looped trail that you can follow either on foot or by bicycle. Raudesanden is a beautiful sandy beach on the northern side of the lake.
The trail goes around Lake Folkestadvatnet that lies at 315 m above sea level. The length of the trail is about 3.5 km. The road on the eastern side of the lake is called Innaforvegen, and the one on the western side is called Blåfjellsvegen. Both are toll roads that go from Folkestad. There is relatively little traffic in the area. There are animals grazing on the fields, so please remember to close all the gates and fence doors behind you.
A car park on the western side of the lake is now under construction, but until it is finished you have to park along the sides of the road. It is important that you park respectfully and do not block in other cars and tractors.
