City walk around Våje in Fosnavåg

This new trail in the centre of Fosnavåg appeared after the footbridge Vågsbrua was opened in the autumn of 2020. It can be a perfect Sunday walk with the family, and you will especially enjoy it if you like walking in urban historical surroundings. 

You can now cross the canal in Fosnavåg Harbor by pressing a button – the footbridge will come to pick you up! Explore the new district in Vågsholmen with its modern residential houses, follow the wooden walkways along the cove, take a walk in Urholmen, and discover the historic Nørvågen with its idyllic houses. You can look at the old boats by the maritime museum Herøy Kystlag on Slippen or visit an exhibition or the art shop at the Kunstmaskina art centre. You can also watch fishing boats deliver the catch at a modern fish reception, and see some old historic buildings that are no longer in use. The trail continues through the city park in Fosnavåg where you will find benches, gapahuk shelters, and a barbecue cabin. The centre of Fosnavåg with its welcoming restaurants and shops is a perfect place to end your walk.

Drive to the centre of Fosnavåg along FV654. Park your car by Thon Hotel Fosnavåg, the city park, or the Menu store in Fosnavåg/Vågsplassen. The trail starts behind the REM building, east of the car park by Vågsplassen.
