This nice trail along a gravel road is stroller-friendly and suitable for families. Lake Akslevollvatnet is beautifully located just by the road. Once you come up to Liasetra, you will see an open cultural landscape with a great view of the Sykkylvsfjella mountains.
The starting point of this trail is Brauta in the Solnørdalen Valley. You will first go down a gentle slope and then walk up a relatively steep hillside. In the east, you can see a mountain range called Knippingen. When you reach a road crossing, keep to the left since the other road leads to Sjøholtsætra. After you have walked for about 1 km, the rest of the trail is relatively flat. You will walk along Lake Akslevollvatnet where there are many holiday cabins. A slight upward slope means that you have reached Liasetra. A nice “gapahuk” shelter called Liahuken is located right after the last cabin. There are tables, benches, and a place for a fire here. Turn left just after the boom gate and follow the new forest road down to the lake. You will find a trail postbox by the bridge over the river.
From the centre of Sjøholt, take the signposted road to Solnørdalen next to Ørskog Samfunnshus (Eng. Ørskog Community Centre). Drive for just under 3 km until you reach a large U-turn to the left. You are in Brauta. There is a large car park here.
