The trail follows a road over Vaksvikfjellet in the direction of Tresfjord. The Stikk Ut Ski postbox is placed about halfway through the road over the mountain. This short trail has a gentle ascent and is suitable for children. If you want to extend your trail, you can ski further to the ski lodge in the Kjersemfjellet area.
The trail is prepared for classic skiing. It starts at the Sportskapellet chapel and runs west along the road to Kjersemfjellet. After about 1.6 km, you will come to an intersection. You will see a trail that runs down to the right towards Grytalisætra, but you need to continue straight ahead and climb a couple of small hills. You will find a Stikk Ut Ski postbox on the right side of the trail once you reach the flat area at the top. For a longer ski trip, you can ski for another 1.5 km through gentle terrain until you reach the ski lodge in the Kjersemfjellet area.
When the snow conditions are good, there is also a groomed ski trail from the ski lodge and around the southern side of Lake Kjersemvatnet, via Grytalisætra, and back to the car park on Vaksvikfjellet. This way you can do a loop trail of around 9 km.
For those of you who want to have as little downhill skiing as possible, it is best to follow this loop trail counterclockwise. This means that you need to turn off to Grytalisætra after about 1.6 km and then continue the loop trail by going east in the direction of Lake Kjersemvatnet, through the ski lodge, and west towards Vaksvikfjellet again. In that case, you will pass the Stikk Ut Ski postbox closer to the end of the trail after about 7.1 km where the terrain ascends and slopes down again.
